The Powerpal hardware and app are both easy to set-up and use. Powerpal is designed for Australian homes. The palm sized device connects your smart meter to your smart phone and understands your time-of-use or flat rate electricity plan.

Powerpal energy monitor connects your electricity meter to your smartphone and wirelessly tracks (in real time!) exactly how your home is using energy.
Now you can identify which appliances and usage patterns are costing you – and pushing up your power bills!
Powerpal energy monitor uses an optical sensor which connects to the front of your electricity meter. It then analyses from the meter and sends this data directly to your Apple/Android Phone or tablet. It even uses a new form of Bluetooth which can transmit data up to give or take nearly 100 metres.
Powerpal works using the pulse output LED on your meter. The small Waterproof sealed transmitter sits on your meter box (battery last up to 10 yrs) so the quicker this LED flashes the more power you are using.
If you need to check the power usage of appliances.. With the app open, turn any appliance on and off and observe the difference in power usage or cost. Powerpal responds within a few seconds to any change in power draw. You can now track down the heavy power users in the home or your business.
Works with your solar panels
When the LED on the meter stops flashing when solar power exceeds household consumption powerpal energy monitor reports NET household electricity usage. This also a good time to use your appliances - as you switch on the appliances you rill even see when you have exceeded your solar power production and can then turn off an appliance so you are not buying in from the grid.
Another great side is for all solar inverters with NO WiFi App you will also be able to see if your inverter is not working. HOW? If on a sunny day your PowerPal shows you are consuming power from the grid when you expect the solar to be providing.
Can I use on multiple devices

. To connect another phone or tablet:
- Disable Bluetooth on the already connected device(s).
- Connect the new device.
- Re-enable Bluetooth on all devices.
If multiple devices are within Bluetooth range, one of them will become the 'main device'. This device gets instant updates and relays data to the other phones or tablets. As a result, these 'other devices' lag the real-time data by about +/- one minute.
Can I see the data when not at home?
Powerpal energy monitor Yes you can.
Connect a tablet or old phone that can stay within Bluetooth range at all times and powered on. Your other connected devices will have data relayed to them via the internet where ever you are. Do make sure the home phone or tablet is connected to a charger all the time.
